I was expecting good weather this weekend because the next Monday is Memorial Day, but unfortunately, New York has a chilly rain weather over the weekend.
It made me feeling down a little, but I am going to use the spare time for some indoor activities, such as reading books that have been untouched since I purchased.

Midnight Celestial Show
Rare super flower blood moon lunar eclipse was observed around the world this week.
Luna eclipse can be seen when the Earth, the Moon, and the Sun align together, and the moon is completely hidden in the earth’s shadow.
In addition, the lunar eclipse this year overlapped with the timing of the super flower moon when the moon approaches the Earth very close, and according to astronomers, it seems that this phenomenon happens a once-in-a-decade.
I also went to Brooklyn Bridge to observe this midnight celestial show and took pictures and videos, so I hope you enjoy them.
It is difficult to recognize it, but the Statue of Liberty is also shown in the lower right.

Japan Travel Advisory to Recommend to Cancel Travel to Japan
On May 24, the U.S. Department of State raised the travel alert level to the highest level of “Level 4: Do not travel” and recommended that Americans refrain from traveling to Japan, in response to the rapid increase in the number of people infected with COVID-19 in Japan.
At present, the Tokyo Olympics will be held from July 23 to August 8 as scheduled, but who knows what will happen in the future?
I know that various interests are involved, and if it is canceled, a large penalty will be incurred, but I would like the Japanese government to put the safety of the Japanese people who have not yet been vaccinated sufficiently first.
NYPD Is Going to Crush Illegal Vehicles
The NYPD appears to have taken a new approach to crack down on illegal vehicles driving through the city with big annoyance noises, in response to a 15% increase in complaints about noise since the start of this year.
It offers a $100 reward to residents who report these vehicles, leading to the seizure, and the seized illegal vehicles seem to be put on the grinder.
In Midtown, where I live, I have trouble with cars and motorcycles running at the sound of explosions day and night frequently, so I hope this attempt will be successful.
Google Photo Unlimited Free Period Is Coming to an End Soon
The end of Google Photo’s unlimited free backup, announced last November, is just around the time as the end of May.
According to Google, content uploaded before June 1 does not seem to be affected, and it does not seem to be included in the count of storage limits that can be used for free.
If you haven’t backed up your photos and videos yet, please be sure to finish them by the end of May!
Pebble, a Sensor that Manages Parking Spaces in Urban Areas in Real Time, Is Unveiled
Google’s parent company, Alphabet’s owned company, Sidewalk Labs has unveiled Pebble, a vehicle sensor that provides real-time availability of parking and on-street parking spaces to help manage parking spaces in urban areas.
Currently, between 9 to 56 percent of traffic and the associated pollution seem to be caused by vehicles running around looking for parking spaces.
Pebble makes it possible to display real-time parking space information in navigation applications such as Google Maps, so it seems to help reduce such vehicles.
There are still issues to be solved, such as safety and privacy issues, but if this system is combined with autonomous driving of cars, it will become even more convenient!
G20 Is Planning to Reach a Consensus in July on Strengthen International Taxation
Kyodo News announced that the G20, which includes emerging countries as well as developed countries, such as Japan, the United States, and Europe, will be coordinating to reach a consensus at a meeting in July for international corporate tax reform with the aim of preventing tax avoidance by giant IT companies.
Under the proposed agreement, the government would introduce a digital taxation system that would allow companies with large sales and a profit margin of more than 15% to be taxed even if there were no corporate bases. It would also create a minimum common tax rate of about 15 percent with the aim of preventing tax escapes using countries with low corporate tax rates.
My job is going to be busy again with this reform, but I like to learn and practice new things, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it’s actually reflected in practice.
Little Island Opened in New York
On May 21, Little Island, a floating park along the Hudson River in Manhattan, opened.
It is open from 6:00am to 1:00am, and a ticket is required to enter the park.
Tickets up to a month later are available on the website, but tickets are currently sold out.
It seems difficult to buy a ticket for a while, but I want to take the opportunity and go to enjoy the beautiful scenery there!
Food Report: ABA Turkish Restaurant
This week, I went to the ABA Turkish Restaurant, located around just southwest of Central Park.
I have visited Istanbul, Turkey once, and since then, I’ve come to love Turkish foods!
This time, I ordered Calf’s Liver (Arnavut Cigeri) and Lamb Adana Kehab.
Calf’s Liver (Arnavut Cigeri) is a dish in which calf’s liver is seasoned with Turkish spice Sumac and fried, and it is very juicy and impressive!
Red cabbage, lettuce, onions and tomatoes are served on side, and altogether, they are fantastically good without getting tired of eating.
The next dish, Lamb Adana Kebab was also rich in Turkish spices, and the meat was soft and it reminded me the memory of the kebab dish I ate on my trip to Turkey.
I ordered Turkish coffee with plenty of sugar for the end, but if I wasn’t full, I was asking for a dessert, Baklava.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is also good, and I am very satisfied this time, so I would like to go there again soon.

Postscript
This week, I was a little busy with work and I couldn’t post a number of articles that I had planned, but it was good because I was able to add some art works in the “Arts in Manhattan” and write about an investment fund that is for investment beginners but hard to tell the difference, and introduce “Personal Capital” which is very useful tool for your asset design and retirement planner.
I also had a happy week because I was able to have enough time to study English online (which I will introduce in an article someday) and study for Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam which I started taking recently.
In my private life, I talked to my high school friends after a long time, and I enjoyed playing tennis twice, including tomorrow’s Memorial Day, so it was a good stress relief.
The weather was bad on the weekend, but I visited The High Line after a long time, so I plan to upload photos on Instagram soon.
